I want to kickstart this newsletter by giving you a little background and context about who I am.
Introduction
My name is Christian Steinert, a born and raised Wisconsin cheese head living in Columbus, Ohio.
I’ve been in the data analytics space for about 7 years. Originally, I started my career in channel marketing analytics after undergrad, with the intent of leveraging an analytical foundation towards a long term career in corporate marketing.
After two years on that marketing journey, working for one of the United States’ largest IT manufacturing companies of data center infrastructure and critical systems, I quickly discovered that corporate marketing was not my speed. Instead, I craved the fast paced and continuous learning side of technology & analytics.
This was the moment I pivoted, doubling down on my foundation in Microsoft Excel to land my dream role as a Business Intelligence Analyst at a highly regarded telehealth software company in Dublin, Ohio.
Without that pivot, I would not be posting on LinkedIn or writing this newsletter to all of you now.
It was truly the foundational shift in my career trajectory that has defined my 20s and the journey I’ve gone through to become Founder & CEO of Steinert Analytics.
Who is this newsletter for?
I decided to call this newsletter Rooftop Insights for a few reasons. My data consulting agency, Steinert Analytics, specializes in helping a few different types of customers.
We have extensive experience in the SMB SaaS market, helping startups and mid-market software companies. Furthermore, we specialize in helping roofing & home service companies take control of their digital processes, and capitalize on efficiency and profit gains with data analytics.
Our core expertise is geared towards driving up profit margins for marketing operations departments of these SaaS and roofing companies. We streamline their data infrastructure and business intelligence reporting & analytics quickly through the Steinert Analytics Process and modern data tool vendors we partner closely with.
So the “Rooftop” piece of Rooftop Insights comes from our unique specialization in the roofing space. Followed by “Insights” because all of our services, even in the more horizontal SMB SaaS space, are designed to deliver insights that drive up our client’s profits…fast!
Our ultimate goal is to reach Directors of Marketing, Technology Heads and Operations executives of these company profiles. The people in the trenches, trying to make sense of their marketing and sales data so they can make decisions that drive up the bottom line. Hopefully this gives you a little clarity on who will gain value from reading this newsletter.

Expect me to take you through the journeys of implementing successful data solutions that solve these clients’ problems.
The newsletters will vary in content from time to time. The core focus being on using data in business strategy to solve our client’s problems. There will be some issues focused on problems our clients encounter with specific tools like Looker and Looker Studio. These will be focused on a tool’s best practice steps to relieve our clients of common data infrastructure pains.
